Letter to Horatio Connell from H. Velten informing Connell that Velten is sending him a portrait of Johannes Brahms etched by W. Unger from a drawing that Unger made of Brahms about a year before the composer's death in 1897. Velten wishes to show his appreciation for Connell's "artistic and grand rendering of the great masters' songs, especially of Brahms." This letter accompanied the framed etching, which was presented to the University of Pennsylvania Library by Mrs. Connell on 19 July 1945.
